You say Delhi is Hot?

Updated: Oct 11, 2022

I

t’s peak of summers in Delhi. Today it’s approx. 43 degree celsius max temperature… But I must tell you, it feels much more coz of the hot wind that will throw almost a kilo of dust in your face in one hour. It’s almost unbearable for me to be out in the sun for more than 15 mins, but this I am always amazed to see people like this road side tailor, who does all the petty tailoring jobs of the neighborhood, like, alterations, fixing broken buttons and torn clothes etc., sitting under the shadow of a tree, adjusting himself to the scorching heat, focused on his work to ensure everyone back at home get the basics they need. A shelter, 3 stomachful meals, education and a warm welcome when he goes back home. The need and want of a better life makes you oblivious to all such things. Isn’t it?

We all go through this, in one way or the other, instead of the sun, it’s a fuming client in an AC cabin who won’t give you proper and complete briefs but still expect a masterpiece,  heated up boss who is upset for various reasons and downloading it on you or your colleagues and so many other things. So what makes you forget the heat? A chilled beer after work or smile of someone waiting back home?
